Be Nice to Your Privates

I had an eye opening experience this weekend. I started a new account and played as a private. Needless to say a certain team and its admins were true smacktards to me.

First of all I applied for and became commander. After about two minutes somebody initiated a mutiny. So I got demoted. Five minutes later they whined about having no commander. Eventually I get kicked for some random reason.. I don't feel bad 'cause I noticed they kicked the player on the other team who was destroying them with an AA tank.

If I were truly new to the game, I would've been discouraged by this rotten experience.

i treat every player equally, no matter what rank.....as i have a PFC account, as well as a 1rst sergent, and a sergent.......i know rank means nothing as far as skill, but even in the few instances it does, everyone deserves a fair chance to play ALL the aspects of the game......

and its just a game.....it wont ruin your life to let some noob learn the ropes....some ppl are so petty, and forget they where once privates too....

BTW....im very good to my privates.....i play with them all the time :laugh:

I agree. The rank in game doesn't indicate much about the person's character or skill. It's true that you can assume a First Sgt. will have more skill than a Private or Corporal, but not necessarily.

The problem is that most people, regardless of skill or rank, are just jerks because of the anonymity of the internet. There is true lack of team play, and team work. Personally, I'd rather teach a newbie how to play, give him some tips, and show examples of what to do/how to act. Then again, I'm a teacher anyways.

I couldnt care less what rank someone is. As long as you do your best and not be a smacktard, your good in my book.

Edit* ^ You raise a good point. I would teach a newbie if I had a chance. I cant find a downside to having someone working with you who is willing to learn.

Rank? Who has time to look for a rank? I never even bother to look at ranks (I don't even know how), if you are in my squad and working with the team, you are good in my book. If you are not chatting/typing and lone wolfing it, you get kicked from the squad so others can join...

HAHAHAHA this happens in every game. it amazes me how stupid people really are that they see a "private" and instantly think it's someone who just came home from bestbuy with the game. I played the Delta force games for like a decade and used to start new players all the time and I ALWAYS got called a n00b.

geez - how man times does the EA account server screw up and not recognize your rank?
except for not having an unlock, it is really fun to go and 'own' the server as a private - talk about getting called a haxor :P

but also - we never called any one noobs
we ALL started out fresh
(just make sure you practice flying at home ! )

Back in the Nova games we would Id ourselves with our old account name and a few tidbits to authenticate. Being a Pvt is the pits. It is the lowest form of social order in online play because everyone assumes you just installed the game fresh from the store an hour ago.

Once in a while in BF2 a total newlet will squeak out a really basic question in heat of battle and I occasionally help out.

There are a few clans who remember players if they keep the old Id across games over the years, for good or bad.

Good advice, I will be nice to my privates.

Anyway, I've had that experience, twice. I was a Gunnery Sgt (and still am :cry: ) playing in Dragon Valley. I was flying a Heli and bumped into an enemy Heli by accident. Some Colonel then said, "Watch where your flying kid?" Kid? Wtf? It happened to me again in Wake Island. I was flying after an enemy F-35, twisting and turning and trying to stay on target, then, out of no where I crash into a friendly heli . A 2nd Lt, says to me, "Learn to Fly, kid? I hate high ranks that think there tuff sh!t.

I would like to help people but if they start to teamkill and can't play the game even with my advice they're out..

Lots of privates are just.. not smart.. I know they are new to the game I was a dumb private in the beginning most people were but some.. They teamkill, don't listen to people and create chaos.. That's why I got my "Anti-Private" feelings..

How about following them around getting revive points instead?
