Connection lost issue

I know there are some threads on this but I am at a loss what to do. One day BF2 was fine and played 3 hours straight. Never had an issue with connection after installing patch 1.3. The boom - connection lost issues all the time - I cant stay on the server for more than a minute and often I dont even get beyond the load screen. I made no changes to my system so its not something I did. I had my ISP provider out to check all connectiosn/settings and no issues on my end. Tried calling EA support who are worse than useless - guy even refused to admit there were any known issues with patch 1.3!

Any useful advice out there - if not this games goes in the bin until they come out with a ptach to make it work

Well since I have no responses, I thought I would post what I try to get to fix this and let you know if it works.

First step - I ran defrag on both my drives, rebooted the machine and then tried again. No improvement. Will try reinstalling the patch next.

Second step - I downloaded the 1.3 patch from EA directly and not the downloader this time. I reinstalled the patch and rebooted and tried again. No improvement. I have sent an email to EA support looking for ideas but I am not hopeful. Has anyone got any other suggestions for me to try?

sorry Dude! im in the same boots as you . From what i have read it's somthing to do with Punkbuster. If there is any help or any suggestions please write in!

i get it frequently. when it happens i just reboot and im good for another few hours or so. until it happens again, etc...

Same issues here, I am trying the whole Punkbutter update tonight, hope it works.

As said above try the Punkbuster fix. Also I found this helped alot after the 1.3 patch:

1. Go to your Network connection settings, head to Windows Firewall settings and disable the exception for Battlefield 2 connections.

2. Run the game, click on the multiplayer tab, then exit the game.

3. You should see a Windows Firewall security message asking you whether to unblock BF2 for net connections click Unblock.

Also as always deleting the cache always helps I find, though I dobut its actually related. Just go to My Documents, battlefield 2, then mods then to cache and delete everything there.
