commader earn you badges?

I was reading a post not so long ago that ea fixed the bug if you were a commander and you artyed 10 people you got your basic medic badge, if you were that kit.

my friend was playing enigneer the other night and artyed heaps of people and got his basic engineer badge without firing a single shot from his shotgun or laying down 1 at mine

and i was reading a post just before some guy was anti-tank and he had his 15 hours. he was playing karkand and he artyed like 25 people and got his vetran anti-tank badge.

i thought ea fixed it so that you could not do this?

i got my expert airdefense as commander sitting in a stinger...

I wonder if you could do it with your knife or pistol out and it counts for knife/pistol kills?

Nope. It doesn't work that way for knife and pistol kills. Think about it. Technically your weapon isn't out.

tried last night as commander but couldn't get the arty to work while sitting on an anti-air gun. Couldn't get it to work off the gun either.
Damn kit they gave me. Blunt knife, blank rounds and now buggered arty.:wall:

u can still get the air and ground badges in vehicles including aa, mg, etc by arty. but for the other badges, not counted as kills in that round , but they will be recorded as kills in your stats. ie: kills are not recorded to your kit, but they are recorded to the vehicle u are in.

You can get your veteran and expert badges for ground def, air def and all kits by using arty. Got my expert ground def and expert spec ops in 1 round as commander in Karkand.

(not pistol, knife or explosives tho you have to actually work for those)
