Slow Loading time because all it is zipped

Battlefield2 is so slow in loading because all is zipped, so the maps needs to be extracted before to play.

If it is true there is a way to extract all the zip file and leave unextracted?

its been discused in the forums a long time ago, in theory it should speed up loading times, however pb would kick you for "modified content". dont know any1 that made it work...

Simple solution : A faster computer. More RAM makes a huge difference in load times.

Yeah, I have a 3500 AMD, 4 GB ram, ATI x1800xl, 2x160GB SATA
but I'm coming from Americas Army, where if you have only 10 minute free you can play a fast game and exit.
In BF2 I spend 10 minute for browsing server, connecting, loading, authorizing and no time for playing...
anyway it is a great game.

hmm, i wonder if more ram would make it more smooth while im in the game apart from increasing load times, becos currently i have little ram and it takes 5 mins to load a map, and it stutters alot more even on 20 people on a 16 player map.
