deleting all bf2 from registry a bad thing??

sorry for the dbl post. just trying to reach everyone asap

okay, so ive done the uninstall, install trick that ea suggested to maybe fix the 1.3 probs....it didnt! so i figure ill just remove anything bf2 on my comp. this is where regedit comes in. so im going through it deleting all bf2 and i com accross this under
    ...menuorder/startmenu/programs/EA games/battlefield 2

    REG_BINARY ("with a thousand #'s fallowing it")

i also found this for SF and EU boosters.
i am worried that if i delete these i will not be able to get teh boosters back?
but i figure if i were to reformat my hd then i would loose it anyway.
so does anyone know what these long # keys are? and why would they not be taken away when i uninstall?
and if i should not delete them, it would be nice to know.

    thanks for any help

should i also unistall/delete anything gamespy and punk buster on my comp? there is no uninstall path, and nothing in my registry, so i guess its just searc, select, delete??
    thanks again

not only did i unistall CRAPach 1.3 i unistalled the whole game. twice now, as to EA's suggestions that they posted on their forums. but i still got teh connection problems, ctd and basically not being able to play the game for about a month now due to what ever went wrong with CRAPatch 1.3.

what do you mean when you say "the patch that is helping alot of ppl?" thats crazy talk. soooo many people are crashing because of it.

Follow directions on Manual Uninstall. Delete all items required and no more nessecary. Reinstall with original disc, then update with 1.3 FULL patch.
If you want, it might pay to try play single player before updating to get a default, and then retrieve your profile for online play. Try online, if that works then it's not BF2.... And at least you'll get your bf2 play fix for the month again lol

Just try to escape from shortcuts like incrementals
Also try a different source than straight from EA.. they seem to not work lol

Punkbuster and gamespy are fine. When you reinstall BF2 it'll ask wether want gamespy again anyway.
And punkbuster has too many issues when played with. If you have it right the first time, best not touch it

its funny you say try a different source, i meant to comment on that. i have dnlwd the patch from ea, ea downloader, and filecloud. and intalled the game from scratch with the full patch and still i get problems.

funny thing also is that from all 3 sourcse the downloads are different sizes 417, 427, and 438 MB. hmmm??

where have most people dwnld from??

I hate waiting for DL's, even at 2Mb/s. SO I generally choose a mirror closer to my country (No sources here). Not entirely sure if everyone else is the same

Yeah which 1.3 patch are we supposed to be using? ( im back on 1.22 now, its great :) ), i mean EADownloader one is supposed to be wrong version causing lots of crashes, what about from largedownloads ea ftp site? thats the one i used to get full 1.3 and it crashed/disconnected every 20 minutes. I was using incremental from 1.22 -> 1.3 before that and it worked without any problems/crashes/disconnects but i didnt have co-op so tried 1.3 grrrrr. Were also not supposed to be using incremental from 1.22 to 1.3 because thats what supposedly crashed the servers
