    Unlocks

So, I have provrastenated long enough and decided to buy BF2:SF, but I wanna know if I have to rank up to unlock the SF weaps on the classes I already unlocked on. Example: I have the PKM, will I have to rank up to unlock the MG32 or since I already have the unlock will I be given it?

Dude! I don't think you can say provrastenated in public!

Short answer? If you buy and install SF, repatch to 1.3 (SF will "revert" you to 1.1) then join an SF game and play a full round in which you score at least 1 point, you will be presented with the same number of unlocks you have for vBF2. You MUST have the vBF2 unlock to unlock the SF version, for example if you have the medic and support unlock right now, you will be able to pick two more unlocks with the SF install. The ONLY SF unlocks you will be able to pick from, however, are the medic and support kits. You MAY choose to pick two more vBF2 unlocks, instead, or any 1-1 combination--say the vBF2 assault g3 plus the SF medic g36c.

If you do buy SF, reccommend uninstalling the whole game, and then reinstalling. Did you dl EF or AF? If so, you should back up the copy you downloaded in you EA downloader cache so that you won't have to burn 3 hours downloading it.

Oops. That short answer went rather long. Here's a slightly shorter suggestion: save your money. SF is fun--I really like the night maps, warlord is a blast, and so is ghost town. It's much more infantry-oriented than vBF2 or either Xpack. But there are fewer and fewer servers running SF, and BF2142 is (more or less) right around the corner. Unless you can get it really cheap, SF isn't worth it anymore.

True. If the OP is only interested in getting the unlocks and not playing on the SF maps, that would be the route to go.

I have a question about my sf unlocks. I havent played sf but a fiew times and was considering uninstaling it to make more room on my HD. Will my sf unlocks stay on BF2 if the files for sf are gone?

              Yes.

[edit]: I have to make the post at least five characters. So here are some more characters.
