Seems you have ati card. You have to disable VPU recoveri in driver control panel. IT will pop up if ur card is running hot. In some cases it even resets all system.
VPU recover errors are generated by the video card saying it had a major problem and the card actually crashed. what vpu recover does it restarts your video card so you can stay in windows without having to reboot your entire computer. Its really not a good thing to turn it off, especially if your having problems.
Check your IRQ's , make sure they are not sharing with anything. Also did this problem just all of a sudden start happening or after you installed something?
Get a ATI Driver Cleaner and remove all ATI software from your computer. What might have happened is there still could be old driver files laying around from a previous install thus borking your current driver installation.
Just some ideas, try that and see if that works :)
Okay , im just walking around (in bf2) and my monitor shuts off....so I alt tab and my resolution is all weird and this error message pops up. Any idea's?
What rez are you running in-game? It is it larger than the rez of your desktop? Your desktop rez is supposed to be the same or larger than your in-game rez.
I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM!
I also have a 9600 but it's a 9600 XT.
I also have the VPU Recover Problem. Whenever I am playin the monitor shuts on and off like every 5 seconds and i have to alt tab out. When I exit to the desktop, the resolution is the same as what i had ingame. When I don't have VPU Recover ticked it just freezes ingame and i have to restart my whole computer. THIS SUX!!
