i see xfire mentioned on this forum as the best app of its type. Anyway, decided to try it as the feature set looked promising......server browser, 1 click to join buddys server, voice chat, etc. Anyway, tested it out....got my buddy to join a server, was expecting it to show me the server details that he was in, and a click to join server button. Instead, it told me he was playing BF2 and i could click and see his stats.......no server name, IP or anything useful.....Was just wondering am i doing something wrong? or has 1.3 broken it (i downloaded the latest version only 3 days ago). Also, when i used the browser it froze my machine (although i could ctrl alt del to kill it). So it don't live up to the hype in my book. Anyone else see this??

Re: Question about xfire
I notice that lately xfire takes a while to update after your friends join a game. I've been on ventrilo with friends and they'd say "follow me on xfire", and I look on the xfire list and it doesn't show them in a game, and the join button is greyed out, but after about 5-10 minutes the game shows. It never used to be like that, but just lately. Probably because a lot more people are using it now. -

Re: Question about xfire
Give it a chance. Millions of people use xfire so the server will take time to process updates...Comment

Re: Question about xfire
I don't know if its just me, but I noticed since 1.3 patch, xfire hasn't been updating as quickly and sometimes fails to even show a friend playing the game when in fact they are.
There have been a couple of recent Xfire updates and I would have thought that this would have been all resolved by now. I would imagine each patch that is released for games, Xfire needs to make some changes on their end too. Perhaps a future Xfire update will fix all of this.Comment

Re: Question about xfire
Any problems I've had with xfire have been my fault for changing something in the options and forgetting about it; it works flawlessly for me otherwise.
And MTV didn't buy xfire, Viacom did...Originally posted by Revoluti0nI am not sure if this is good or bad but MTV just recently bought Xfire:
