Squad hopping woes but making the game faster?

What about making the game so even if you have no flags, you can still spawn on your squad leader?

This would alter the game and how its played big time.
It might end the, finally capped a flag, lets move on, mentality as well, making more people defend a bit more. It might also put tankers and the like a bit more in the "tread carefully" mode as well.
After all if you squad leader has successfully evaded tanks, infantry, and uav, to be still in the proximity of the flag, why shouldnt we be able to spawn back on him. Not my fault that the enemy did not properly secure the area.

Many times i've seen whole squads leave a flag area, that blatenly showed, in uav, that an enemy was still there. Im on the other side of the map and notice this. I type out, usually hey guy there still, but.....no one cares. Then....the flag goes white. Sometimes the commander aces out the guy before he turns it, or a chopper or whatever.
Anyways, I think this would put the "fast paced" back in the game that some whine about. Im fairly certain it would. Especially with the way squad hopping is now, with this added, it would be pretty fun, and alter the games sometimes overplayed, mundane way of playing/routes etc.

I'm not sure I'm following you here...

You can still spawn on the SL if the SL was smart and took cover in an important area. Without the ability to squad hop, there's more importance placed on the SL doing a good job and for the squad to make sure he survives. I've been doing quite a bit of SLing lately and I find it hella fun under the new system. Sure, I don't score as high when I'm playing smart, but I balance that out by taking kits that allow me to wrack up some teampoints. I also don't avoid the action altogether... rather I just try to keep my profile lower and only make moves against flags when I know I'm going to be strongly supported. Having a smart medic in the squad is a HUGE bonus too.

In the case you mentioned where there's a red dot still lerking near a flag, I always call for a "Sweep and clear" when my squad has taken a flag. Anyone with half a brain knows that means spread out and make sure all the bad guys are DEAD. It's true that many players simply aren't that smart, but hey... ya can't patch people.

    Playing smart is a skill.

Now if can only get the other 40,000 players to do that ^^

But hwat he is saying, under the system, once all your flags have been capped or greyed, you can no longer spawn on the SL. His suggestion is that in light of the changes, that should be removed, and you should be able to spawn on a SL even with no flags.

I think what he means is simple: allow squad members to spawn on their leader even if you don't have a flag.

My favorite though: The snipers who have been sitting on roof tops for the whole game realize they have no more flags, they get shot, join your squad, leave it, join the next, leave it, expecting to join back in the game.!!!

I agree it would make things more interesting to give SM the ability to continue to spawn on their SL.

        PEACE

          Ah.

Well, no I don't think that would be wise.
If you could spawn on SLs without needing a flag, you could never win via blowout. Being able to take all the flags for the victory is an important part of some maps. It can lead to turn arounds and come-from-behind victories that are hella rewarding to be involved in.

As it is, it rarely happens, but it's cool when it does.

It would just mean that you would have to find and kill the squad leader (where people are spawning) before the game ended, and if people couldn't squad hop and the squad leader couldn't respawn if killed until a flag was captured.....I think it could add an interesting new dimension.

heh, thanks. And yes I believe it would as well. Gimpy, your always saying you enjoy being a "smart" squad leader. What this would do, is simply prove it. And add to your enjoyment as well, i might add.
I'd rather put a price tag on a squad leaders head. In fact i'd get even more evil, and if your a squad leader and die, you have only one spot to respawn at............. your main.
              lol now that would rock.
So, you can spawn on your SL even without a flag.
              You can not squad hop.
Your squad leader dies, and you dont revive him or her, he or her respawns, or rather must respawn at the main.
              mauhahahhah

Re: Squad hopping woes but making the game faster?

spawning at the main seems like too much of a handicap. I just like the other idea cause it could give a team one last chance to survive if all the flags are captures, if and only if they can play as a good squad.

                  Ok, I misunderstood a bit.

Yeah, I could see that working, but I don't think it's an important enough tweak to really worry about.
