Im wondering what these requirements mean. I understand the numbers but wanted verification on what constitutes a driver special ability and a kill assist and what the best way to go about getting this is.
13 driver ability assists means healing points, or repair points, or supply points, from the driver, while you're a passenger. kill assists, are exactly that, a standard kill assist but from the drivers part. 5 kills are for you, from a vehicle.
best bet is probably hope your driver in the tank is a medic or supply man and sits in the meat masher at karkand.
so being a medic in the passenger seat of a Hummer and getting an injured squad to jump in... healing them from the passenger seat... counts as a Driver Ability? Or do I have to be driving?
to get a driver ability assist, i believe you have to be a passenger. If your driver was a medic and an injured teammate gets in, you get a point when he gets a heal point. same goes for supply and repair.
no. DRIVER special ability means that while you were driving/piloting, some other dude performed his special ability on you or another guy in the vehicle.
Ahh.... so Im driving, my gunner is a medic, and some half-dead squad piles into my Vodnik and gets healed by my gunner... I get "Driver Special Ability" points.
I dont kno about that, I remeber when I was in a tank and some guy captured a flag, he jumped into my tank (I was an assault) and as soon as he did, I got a driver ability point. There was noone else around, my tank didnt need repairs, didnt need ammo, and I had all my health.
I think that I get driver special ability points when I'm a medic and I'm driving around and I heal people that are next to my vehicle. It would be awesome if EA / Dice would actually RELEASE some information about this so the debates could end.
Anyhoo, I got my crew ribbon while being a helo pilot on Sharqi. Mostly piloting, but sometimes gunning. It was a pleasant surprise. Never thought I'd get that ribbon.
No no no. If YOU are the driver, and there is a MEDIC as a PASSENGER, and the PASSENGER heals someone ELSE, NOT IN THE VEHICLE, you get a driver point.
Now I have no idea how to get this silly ribbon. lmao.
Yeah, this one is tricky to land when by chance. You could have a friend help you but have him ride as supply for as you roll in armor. Easy driver ability assist points as others inadvertently run by getting ammo from your friend.
After you kill 5 guys in the tank and have the necessary driver ability assist points, swap places and have your friend drive and gun.
Once he gets 13 kills, you've got your medal.
Or you could just play for a while. It helps to be on an armor/infantry intensive map like Karkand.

I got the Crwe Specialist ribbon on Mass Dewtreuction yesterday, and I'm not quite sure how it happened. I was a helo-gunner the whole time except for running from spawn-points to the chopper. I never drove anything. I did drop a few medic packs while waiting for the choipper to spawn. In the air I recieved many driver kill assists and a few kill damage assists on enemies I wounded that other people finished off. When I got the 10th kill with my cannon, right near the end of the round, it awarded me the ribbon. Strange.
