This is really ****ING me off, and it happens when I am having a GREAT game. I lose connection but I can still move around and see things which are motionless, then I go to the main server screen. I have cable internet and my internet IS working as I am writing this message. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EA/DICE are releasing a new patch very soon to hopefully fix all this...as of now just ensure you're running the full patch and your system is defragged and you shouldn't have as many problems.
Although sf is more prone to connection issues than vanilla or af. I tend to get about 8-10 games in on vanilla with no problems and 5-6 on sf and 10-12 on af. -

I don't know sammy I have taken a break from gaming and from BF for about two months. I am fresh back as well today and was very ready for some Armored Fury. I have tried everything to figured why I am getting booted from every server in about 30 seconds. I figured it was a Punk Buster file needing to be updated or such. I went to Even Balance and updated and yet still am getting booted right after loading in. I normally can walk like 10 feet and bam I get connection lost. This is no doubt showing me WHY I took a two month break in the first place. Any and all help would be great.
Hey Ken is this also effecting me? Where I can't even stay in any server for more then 20 to 30 seconds?Comment

It's affecting everyone that has gone from 1.22 to 1.3. Biggest thing I might suggest to you would be to uninstall bf2/sf and reinstall and use the full 1.3 patch. There have been a couple problems in the past with people using the incremental patch vs the full patch. Give that a go.Comment

Wow you know I have been at this for a very long time. I started (AWG) back in 1998. I have seen a recent wave of these big companies taking something that could be so f-ing great and ruin it. I thought Novalogic took the cake with their destruction of a great game called Joint Operations. Very much like this title the game had some incredible features and a strong community. They patched and over night ruined an entire title and community.
Congrats D.I.C.E. / E.A. you have finally topped Novalogic. I for one will be looking forward to playing titles from people and companies who enjoy gaming. You guys only enjoy making products and it really shows. I am happy for one thing though. At least you guys p*ssed off the only true help you had when developing BF2. I look forward to seeing just how angry you made them as my money is indeed on Kaos Studios to make BF2 look stupid.Comment

Well, I have always believed that the powers that be are more interested in commerce and the next big hit in retail than taking the word of the gamers and actually coming down from the towers and fixing the game.
I share 2112's sentiments as we have been down this road with other companies.
The Connection issue I find particularly amusing. Especially since I am faster in the upload and download than the average college desktop that runs off a nearby Backbone. I havent had too many of these to totally **** me off yet but I am seriously looking at that old Dell Psion Gold Dailup card that never ever ever failed on DFLW games some years ago.Comment

Yes yes yes + yes to connection errors/screwed up pings.. ... :cry:
Have not tried un-install/re-install or try re-upgrade with full 1.3 patch yet.
Suppose can not hurt though pain to re-install all mods.
EA posted that a new patch will be beta-tested in early July.
New map to try soothe all our frayed nerves.
Feel like patience sorely tried after this 'upgrade' fiasco.
Might consider purchasing AF if felt core BF2 game was fixed.Comment

I have had the same issue in SF and what I find worse is that everything is great one day and then goes to c**p the next day - totally random and no sense to it all. I even called EA support one day and their fantastic advice was to reinstall the patch but not to use EA downloader as there are a lot of issues with it! I didnt know how to even respond to that!!!:laugh:Comment

The whole lost connection thing ****es me off to especially if I have been playing for a bit but the good thing is if you have the IP you can get back in and still have the same points.........still sucks to have to login again....stupid game....

Hi all. Good to see some decent discussion going on.
Have the same problem but not every day. Some play fine and others just cant log in or loose conection, usually when having the most fun.
Also another prob that i have is servers have disapeared. Changed internet provider, moved over to cable and now i get about 150 servers and lots in red. Weird hope patch fixes thingsComment

What frustrates me the most is how the same game through different variations (sf, vanilla, af etc) you get different things. Like on vanilla you might get a few hang ups maybe 1-2 connection problems every 20-25 games but SF doesn't hang up is closes the fawking door, connection issues at least every 5-10 games whereas AF just has the occasional flash of "there is a problem with your connection" .

LMOA.. Welcome to my world. What makes it worse for me is I get this the MOST on OUR ranked server that I pay for. What is also funny, is that you mention that you get it when you have a GREAT game. LOL ME too. Was commandor and kicking the other teams butt. They had 2 tickets left and was about to end the game. Had a great score too. AND THEN your connection to the server has been lost. MF!!! But yea I feel your pain. What REALLY ****es me off is we have to wait till prob. about Aug. for the patch. Because of there open beta testing. That is just a guess on my part.Comment

the only connection problems i have had is the whole server crashing, and me being a part of a popular SF squad and having a full SF server..., just makes it worse..good job EA
