anyone who has a 6600gt gfx card,can u post some screenies of how it looks like and how and wht settings it plays on and how it performs wit the new 1.3 patch. (also preferebly have 1 gig of ram and close to a 2.6ghz cpu so itl be closer to my specs thnx...)

I have one (PCi-e Version), and I run Mix of Medium/High, no Dynamics and no AA @ 1280 x 960 with avg somewhere 60-70, sometimes dips in the 50's most maps. But a 64 player Karkand would reduce those numbers alittle.

Well that doesn't make sence lol, I used to have a AGP 6600GT on my Athlon XP 2800+ (barton core), 1.5GB PC2700 RAM, and I can only run BF2 - patch 1.3 on medium/low settings (that's low for lighting, so shadows are off) and I find it difficult to beat 30 fps on the full 32 player server. 1024x768 and no AA
I got a replacement 6800(v) when my 6600GT broke almost year ago and I still get max 30 fps.... 35-40 fps on a 16 player server size.
I know for a fact that a PCi-e varient makes no difference on these midrange cards on my machine. Confusing!Comment

i use to run with all medium settings but i have low ram (512) and since problems of 1.3 i put all to low so i load faster.. but the card is good for medium settingsComment

I have a 6600 256MB, same series but different version but I run all medium, textures high and view distance 100%.

I don't have screenshots of like photographic ones, just from in game, but tried to vary it. Imo its a really good gfx card. Ive had it for about a year now, no problems, runs all my games to my liking, sure it might not give ultra on BF2, but it gives all high on Doom 3, All top on FarCry. F.E.A.R. is mixed with medium and high's. Quake 4 High. Oh yeah on 1 or 2 of the Screenshots it was running on 1024x768 that was when I had my 15'' TFT monitor. But now that I have my new 19'' TFT monitor, my setting is on 1280x1024 :).Comment

Edit: High Settings are limited to Geometry/Effects/100% view Distance, oh yeah - LOW Lighting.

Run all Medium with 2xaa @ 80fps contant.

Well, if you had one with 256mb of memory, they would be similar. Other than the 6600 having a bit higher clock speeds and ddr3 memory, and the 7600 has ddr2 memory and 12 pipelines, instead of the 6600's 8. Dont get the 7600gs mixed up with the 7600 GT, because the Gt has ddr3 and very fast clocks, so it owns the gs and the 6600:)Originally posted by thelast500Comment

I get my drivers from www.tweaksrus.com
Use the downloads page: http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?o...man&Itemid=41/ and then select your driver by going through the stages. XTreme-G Forceware Drivers are tweaked to be better than Nvidia standard. Just pick the newest (if you want beta or not) and make sure it's compatible. e.g is 6600GT on the list and do you have an x64 or x32 OS.Comment

i use the standward nVidia drivers, p4 3.6, 2 gigs ram, ASUS 6600GT 256
medium-high, 80-100 fps standing around doing nothing, 30-50 in firefights.
all in all its a great card for the price :)Comment
