SF installation-Revert back to BF V. 1.1

does the installation of SF cause you to revert back to BF 1.1 because thats what its doing, I put the installation cd in and it says " preparing to patch to BF to version 1.1, and now it says "patching please wait" am I getting patched back to version 1.1, WTH, I dont want to go and redownload and reinstall V. 1.3 that will take me hours.......

I just wanted to get back into SF but I see now that it wont be that easy :roll:

Sorry bro, but thems the dice.

My recommendation (this will save you a lot of problems) is to uninstall bf2.

Next, reinstall bf2. Do not patch.
Install SF.
Patch with 1.3 FULL (as in, the 800mb version, not incremental)

That'll do the trick.

Ive got a slow computer so I guess I wont be playing any SF tonight, BF2 always has to this the hard way doesnt it

DUDE the exact same thing happened to me this morning - my Special Forces just came in the post. When I installed it said reverting back to 1.1... then it did that... then Special Forces wouldn't run, etc. So I just installed the full 1.3 patch, works fine now, but I don't know if it'll work the same for you. Didn't uninstall anything.

yep that is correct. when you install SF it installs version 1.1. you have to now install 1.3 again. :|:

Redownload? You mean you earlier downloaded the full patch, but after you installed the patch you had it deleted?
My tip: Keep the patches :) There usually comes a time when you need to reinstall everything.
