EF is good. I play on mainly one server on it, but Operation Smoke Screen is great for vehicles, choppers, jets, tanks. Had some of my best TV missile duals on that map.

Ya, the community did not give EF a chance. Or they community was to focused at the time of release on Infantry only fighting. EF is good if you like variety.

Operation smokescreen is the best vehicle map, probably better than all AF maps.

Air whoring is kept to a minimum because bombers are not there, only fighters, which are very balanced and do not impede overly on ground forces.

Except I have had incredible fun nailing everything from DPVs to tanks using the fighters 1 or 2 bombs. If you have skill, it is easy. If youre used to dropping 4 bombs in a noobish fashion from a bomber, you will miss everything heh.

Thats why its such a great map: helicopter, tank, or fighter, you can have whatever you want, whenever. But its balanced incredibly well, perhaps because everyone has whatever vehicle they choose, its not 4 tanks and 60 guys running on foot, like karkand is.

Taraba quarry is the worst vehicle map I have ever seen. Great wall is an interesting karkand ish map (much more interesting scenery and tactical variety), but great wall is generally claymore whored to obscurity.

Great Wall is an awesome map, tanks battle each other, whilst infantry battle each other on the walls in some awesome firefights were snipers are actually useful, and medics and support are essential.

Smoke Screen is a really good vehicle map, but theres no point being on foot. Theres plenty of vehicles to go around though - 4 fighters, 4 attack helos, about 16 tanks, 2 Mobile AAs, its probably the purest vehicle warfare you will find in BF2. As good as Oman I would say.

Taraba is an ok vehicle map. I'd put it on a par with something like Kubra Dam.

Overall these maps are pretty good, I would rate them well above maps like Clean Sweep (entertaining for the 6 players in airplanes, but total boredom for the remaining 58 players in the server) or Songhua Stalemate (grey foggy apc battles, with endless aimless flag capture/recapture). But to answer your question, there are increasingly less servers to play on, it's not impossible to find them, they just are a very small niche compared to the billions of identikit 24/7 Strike at Krapland 64/64 servers, and personally I rather like that. I'm still getting my £6's enjoyment out of it, so if you still love bf2 but are bored of the same old retards on the same old maps then maybe I'll see you on the wall at Great Wall!

Ya, you might want to fire up QTRACKER and see how many servers are really out there and how many are actually populated wiht people. Lots of them are empty if they exist! Maybe that will sway your opinion. Most people are in SF or AF. It would be great if their were unlocks you could take away from EF to the other parts of BF.

In general, you might want to remain nice to anyone you run across in EF, because odds are, you are going to see them often.

euro force... i think i played it for oh all of 5 minutes with ppl. it's fine for when your extreemly bored and want to kill mindless AI but other then that it's not really worth it, not many if any at all servers run the maps.

no. there are fewer and fewer euro forces servers running. Its not bad but its not as good as armored fury. It is however better than SF.

i think sf is better then ef since it has more maps and more content but idd buy it since now the have AF+EF servers which are fun to playon. only 10$ idd say its barly worth it.

It is sad though, because I think EF is better then AF. The Eurocopter is better then anything the Littlebird has, or the Cobra, Havok, or Z-10. They have different textures, models. Just over all the maps are better two.

But the question was never asked. What kind of player are you!? Are you an run and gun kind of person? If that is the case, AF and EF are not for you. Ya, there is nothing but firefights in Great Wall, but that is the exception for infantry compared to all the other EF/AF maps. Everything is geared to vehicle hungry players. You want to fly? Operation Smoke Screen has two attack helo's per team and two attack (not bombers) per team. Want armor? HAHAH, then OSS and Taraba Quarry are loaded to the hilt with tanks. You could put every player in on both teams in the a aircraft/tank/helo if you use the driver and turret seat. Their is that much equipment. Sorry though, if you are infantry, you are going to be driving around (exposed) a lot in a jeep. Most of the CPs do not offer a lot of cover from armor and helo's that can circle. Great wall would be your only salvation if you want some kind of CQC.

Sadly though, there are only a handful of servers offering EF. If you have both AF&EF, you have a lot more options, and it is a nice blend to take you away from the old vanilla maps.

I think they are worth it, but you might just need to decide if you want to spend $10 on EF, $20 on EF/AF, or $20 on SF; because SF might be just more what you want.

I think these questions, "is XXXX worth it" are horrible when the person does not describe what they are looking for in a gaming experience. But based on your stats, what kits you used and maps you play, EF is not for you.
