New recruit screen freeze

Im trying to help a freind, he just reinsalled windows updated all his drivers, & Installed BF2. The intro movie runs then goes to welcome recruit screen were you can choose to play online or single player, If he makes a selection it freezes

Any ideas?

ps. i ran a search but got a bunch of stuff not related to what i was looking for Sry if this is a common prb. Plz help :) TIA

It sounds like you have fixed it for the moment, if it comes up again, you can load another profile, then make a shortcut to BF2 so it logs you in auto-maticly.
