The open beta begins in early July, it'll probably be weeks before that ends and the patch is finally released. So it doesn't seem like it is coming that soon anyway.

You better be joking. Everytime I play BF2 I constantly get CTD's, connection errors and servers crashing. If they take months they will lose alot of players.
