Re: Dice got smart
Hopefully this doesn't just turn out to be a fluke. It will be nice if EA/DICE is offering this Open Beta to actually get input, rather than just as a public relations stunt just to boost their damaged rep.Comment

We'd better be able to roll back the beta patches if we decide we don't want them any more =/Comment

Im not falling for ****, everytime they come out with a new patch people get all excited and actually think they are going to fix things. All they are going to do is cause more and more bugs.Comment

I just dont think the whole open-beta idea is going to help anything, but thats just my opinion.Comment

Re: Dice got smart
yeah it will, basically they will see if the new patch will work, and being DICE they will probably screw something up, then they can fix it up before they publically release this.Comment

Re: Dice got smart
sounds like EA/DICE are finally focusing on proper testing.....i beta tested 1.2 after they released it.....i tested it for 38 seconds before i realised that there was a serious issue for ATI users
ppl was sayin they dont wanna have to wait for all this testing and whatnot.....but trust me.....u gonna be waiting alot more for a hotfix to this one if they dont take the time to test it right first time.....remember 1.2....
so be patient.....or play something else in the meantime....
i think a quick hotfix that fixes the server crashes should be first up tho...then the actual patchComment

Re: Dice got smart
Well, technically I think it would be cheaper for them to do a Open Public Beta, as we are providing all the machines and tons of different configurations, and they therefor dont need to do lots of expensive internal testing, with tons off differnt machines. LikeAlpha said about the ATI issue. What if they didnt test with an ATI card and didnt do a beta? Ikes...
Anyway, well see how this plays out, hopefully the beta will be worth something...Comment

Re: Dice got smart
its probably only because they're going to release the map with it. They want people to be excited about the game again.
I don't blame them. I'd freak out too when everybody goes "eh, who cares anymore?"Comment

Re: Dice got smart
The next patch would be great if had like a "system restore " kind of feature, so whenever they roll out a bad piece of ****, we can click a few buttons then Game restore to previous working order.Comment

If they have no way for the general public to post formal bug discoveries, I don't think it'll be much different. Although I could be wrong...Comment
