Well, I'm new here (I wasn't happy with bf2s.com) so I guess I should get the ball rolling on getting to know the community and what not. Anyway, I've been curious for a while as to whether everyone aspires to make it the General in Bf2 or if they aren't so dedicated. If you don't, tell us what rank you DO want to make and why not all the way up to general.

i don't realy care about the ranks... i just wanna have fun :) if i don't like bf2 no more well... then i stop , i wont keep playing just for the ranks :p

After I hit first sergeant and get my last last two unlocks (the engineers ones) I'm just gonna play for fun. I don't plan on playing for badges to get me past Colonel. The only reason to try for those is if you like to be commander because youll probably always be commander if you apply.Comment

I'm happy with Gunnery Sargeant for the time being. No pressure, a gold medal reigned in at least every 3 days. I just play for fun really, not badges or awards or promotion. What's the point in slogging it for gazillions of hours at something when you're not having fun and the only end result is some poxy pixel medal? The recognition of your peers for how fantastically **** hot you are perhaps, even though no one really gives a **** about any of that.

I'm currently at about 2,400 points and once I got my next rank at 2,500 points I can't really see myself going much further beyond that. I think i'm what you'd call a 'pubber', although I dont actually play after the pub, I only tend to play after a smoke as I find I can get more immersed in the action. :evil: Don't get me wrong, i'd love the intense teamwork aspect of clan matches but I dont really have the time to devote to it. As for medals, they are waste of time, just pixel-crack to keep you playing.Comment

2nd that. grind from 20 to 50 is going soooooo slowly. i just ordered a joystick, and i'm going to start flying a little bit (i know, maybe too little, too late) to drive up the score.
