  • Modding BF2 maps to the SF exe

My clan is trying to make BF2 maps such as Mashtuur playable on the Special Forces exe, so there would be grappling hooks, tear gas, etc.

Does anyone know how we would be able to keep the flag placememt and add in the new secondary weapons to the maps while keeping the rest.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

As an added bonus my Special Forces Unlocks Edition will also have US, MEC, and PLA kits modified. You will just copy the BF2 maps into the UnlocksSF mod.

Then you will be able to play either SF or BF2 maps using the UnlocksSF mod with all the unlocks and SF tools.

I will be releasing it within a day or so along with an update to my original Unlocks found here:

FFOLKES Unlocks Special Forces Edition has been released!

          Download mirrors:

          Filefront -
          http://files.filefront.com/FFOLKES_SF_Unlockszip/;5163311;;/fileinfo.html
          Rapidshare - http://rapidshare.de/files/23370764/FFOLKES_SF_Unlocks.zip.html

As an added bonus my Special Forces Unlocks Edition also has US, MEC, and PLA kits modified for BF2. You will just copy any BF2 map into the UnlocksSF mod. In addition to playing Special Forces with all the unlocks you will also be able to play any BF2 map with their respective armies using the UnlocksSF mod with all the unlocks and SF tools.

For example, using the UnlocksSF mod the BF2 armies have the crossbow, grapplehook, teargas, flashbang, gas mask, and multiple zoom binoculars.

Two questions: would I be able to mod this mod, to make the kits the same as they are in bf2, but say give the assault and at just the grapple hook?

And how would I put this mod on my server to play online?

Yes you can edit my mod. Just don't repackage it and release for public without proper credit due.

For the BF2 custom SF kits all you need to edit is the kit files found in the BF2SF_Unlocks.zip\kits and/or weapon .tweak files found in the SF_Unlocks.zip\Weapons\Handheld. Just make sure you don't put two weapons/tools with the same ObjectTemplate.itemIndex in the same kit.

To install on a dedicated server you should be able to just copy the BF2SF_Unlocks.zip file to the BF2 mod file found under the dedicated server folder. Then you will also need to make sure your dedicated server has SF installed (xpack mod). Then just copy the UnlocksSF mod to the dedicated server. Then each client PC should install the FFOLKES_SF_Unlocks and follow the exact instructions to be set up correctly.
