Patching failed still........ 4 months no game play..

So, it's been about 4 months, i haven't played BF2 since they decided to screw us over with their stupid patches that don't work, So i have tried 1.21, 1.22, and 1.3.. all full versions from several different sources, and they all come up with the same error, Now i've talked to EA, and i've decided those guys are morons, and after 4 months of communicating with them they've offered to essentially refund my game, i have to send my copy and they'll send me a new copy which i can take back to the store.. So as far as this error goes, I am in the US, my game is a US copy, i am running on the US verison of windows, so i don't have any of those problems to worry about, and i have tried 3 different US copies of the game and none of them seem to work.. So if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appericiated..

Fromat your computer and reinstall. Also make sure to get the latest drivers for motherboard, sound and video.

Already formatted, as far as the drivers, those are always updated but those have no bearing on the situation with the game not being able to locate files within it's folders.

I agree with twsmit.

The game played alright before the patches?
I don't see why a language file that you don't use should be stuffing up your game.
HMMMMMM. Anyone else have some ideas?

I had a similar problem, but it was my RAM!!! Download a program called memtest86 and run it overnight. If it generates any errors then send your RAM back to your manufacture.

PC was custom built, it start with patch 1.21, i believe that was the universal SCREW YOU kind of a patch from EA, prior to that it worked fine and dandy, as far as mem test i've run it, if you know what symptoms to look for it's not needed, my system preforms perfectly in all of the other games but this damn one.. So i don't know.. haha any other ideas would be greatly appericiated..

Also BF2 must be installed on C: drive for it to work with updates/patches..thats what I found :)

After trying everything, I pretty much resorted to replacing every component in my PC. Game runs now, although its laggy as all hell.....

Move on and play something else.

To tell you the truth, every game BUT BF2 works without a problem i have not had a single problem with any other game that i own.. it's strictly BF2.. hell i own MOHPA, MOH, quite a few EA titles for that matter and non of them have this problem other than BF2.. so it's on EA's end...i am sick of dealing with them and their BS.. they cannot offer any solutions to errors that are caused by their problems.. it's not like it's only me i know quite a few people that are having the same problem, if they gave a damn about their customers they would resolve this themselves.

Thanks, Well it's true EA sucks, and they only care about money, they don't give a rats-A$$ about their customers or their problems, aslong as they get the 50 dollars their customer support can brush the customers off when they're having problems and not offer them a solution to the problem like they should since we're giving them our hard earned money..i am thinking about taking them up on their offer. send me a new clean copy and take it back.. unless they magically release a new patch that resolved all of the problems from their previous patches.
