Game Problem! Help Plz

Alrighty well I got this firned who wants to play and has been playing for quite some time, but didnt have the right patch so when he got the patch it didnt work so he uninstalled it and reinstalled the game. Now the game will open to where it says Battle Field 2 and then black screen, then back to descktop, then tried installing the patch(1.22) again and same problem plz help what the hell should he do?

If he were to uninstall all the bf2 stuff alltogether and reinstalled it and then redl'd the 1.22 patch would that do the trick?

Possibly, but first I would check my anti-virus stuff, to make sure it is letting it though.

Then reinstalling and patching up to 1.22 using a full patch instead of the incrementals may do the trick.

If none of that works let us know. :)

nah never mind i fixed it cause u know im kool like that, i told him what to do and bamo, fixed but it was pretty much what u said to do but i did it b4 i read this so, great minds think alike lol thanks alot bro

hey guyz.. i think i got the same problem.. i now install the 1.3 patch.. i wanted to play.. but when im ready to go into the game it go black screen dan auto quit back to desktop.. how shld i do wif this?..

??.. am i suppose to reinstall my battlefield again.. OMG.. haha
or am i going to update my graphic card or something else?

ok it has worked b4 u tried all this and now it dosnt, just do this

Install the patch if it dosnet work then do this

Reinstall Bf2, then just install the FULL patch to the patch u want, I reccomand 1.22 or 1.3 pick on or the other then it should work, if not then try reinstalling ti again!

Someone has mentioned Antivirus software - would that result in making the patch not work? I don't see how it can allow it to install but then make it not work?

By "anti-virus" stuff he might mean your firewall. If you uninstall/reinstall or if the patch alters you "bf2.exe" file, then your firewall might pick it up as a new program.

...In which case, you just go into your firewall, and tell it to let BF2 access the internet.

Weird. do you have a firewall? If so, which one? Have you opened it, deleted the BF2 entry, and then re-enabled BF2.exe to access internet?

I only mention this because I used to get "logging in to account server" for 3-4 mins, and then either a drop to desktop, or only SP option for games. Then, I fiddled with my firewall and everything was super.

Easiest way to tell is to TEMPORARILY turn off all antivirus/firewall/antispam etc. and see if it works. You should also go through your processes (ctrl-alt-del) and shut down anything that is under your specific username (not system processes) that you absolutely 100% don't need to have running.

Having said all that, an immediate CTD (if that is the problem) usually indicates that there is a conflict between the windows OS, the BF2.exe program, and the hardware drivers that are pushing the user output. Have you checked you device manager for potential conflicts? Have you disabled onboard sound if you have a PCI sound card? Disabled onboard midi? Disabled onboard VGA? Etc...etc...etc...

When you say you "reinstalled it again" are you referring to windows or BF2.exe?
