    Make it go!

Okay, I've had BF2 since August and I haven't had any problems until very recently. My RAM is fine, CPU is fine, graphics card is more than fine. :P

My problem is, when I click on the BF2.exe file, 90% of the time, nothing happens at all. It takes on average, twenty or so tries to finally make it go. It wouldn't be so bad, but the application does actually run, so I have to close it via task manager before every attempt.

I've tried renaming the shortcut, updating drivers, defragging, not using the shortcut period (Using the EXE itself) and everything else I could think of to no avail. If anyone knows why this might be happening, please help! I'll give you cookies.

That happens with my Internet explorer a lot, and usually it means something is conflicting with the program. Check your anti-virus and other things that could affect it starting.

But if that doesn't work, when in doubt, reinstall.

Yea, I've reinstalled and that didn't solve it. I also tried running it with all other applications closed (including virus programs) and that didn't help either.

When was the last time you defragged? (oops, call me illitoorut--you already did that)

What about other programs? Any blue screens of death, or windows errors popping up?

How old is your windows install? Any problem backing up the important stuff and reinstall windows?

            Re: Make it go!

I defraged last week. I defrag monthly.

            No blue screens, no errors.

Windows install is... not even a year old? I recently reactivated it too. I don't have the Windows disk, so reinstalling it is out of the question.

Thanks for trying to help, but I've tried every conventional option... :S
