    "Hey! I need a ride!"

*Watches someone get into a car/boat/APC/transport heli mere metres away*

    "Gimme a ride!"

*Observes said player **** off into the distance on his own*

    "Thanks, I owe you one."

I find this absolutely infuriating. Fair enough if there's arty raining all around, but when everything is clear and certain gob****e players insist on soloing it leaving you with a solid 5 minutes trek from Vista Point to the nearest CP.

Selfish rambo types aside, I think it may also be partly to due with the whiney voice it's asked in when you're not a squad leader/commander. People are used to hearing 'Hey, I need a ride!' from aloof noobs who don't seem to have much perspective on where they are or what they're doing when you've already driven a solid 300 yards away.

I wouldn't TK them, but one of the greatest satisfactions BF2 can provide is seeing them AH-12ed or AT mined or ERYXed to death 10 seconds into their solitary commando adventure.

        player 1: hay i need a ride
        player 2: yeah jogg on.....

yeah it gets on my nerves so much, but at lest with the car drops its not so bad as long as the commander isnt busy droppping them on people lol

Yeah, one of my pet hates:-

          Wake Island - US
I board a BH and repeatedly say "go high, really high to avoid jets"
Sure enough about 5 seconds later the missile warning is blaring away and I bail out just as a J-10 takes out the BH.
I float to the water and find myself miles from shore, half way between the Essex and the Arty island.
3 RIBS pass by with me screaming repeatedly "I NEED A RIDE" - how infuriating!

Sometimes peace can only be bought about by WAR

I think some people must play with the sound off or they have the foreign voices and don't know you're asking for help. It's the same with medics and ammo.

I will drive off on anyone if they are more than say 15 seconds run/walk away. Seriously calling "i need a ride" from one side of wake island to the other is sad

That is why you can ask for vehicle drops now I suppose.

it ****es me off too...it boils down to lack of consideration for other players.....and the team as a whole......

i ALWAYS stop, or back up to pick up anyone who needs a ride.....its not like im not going to be able to play if i do, there is still plenty of time for all that....and i think its funn speeding off with a full transport to the next point, or fire-fight

Very true. Once, this guy took a humvee and left me there without a ride. Immediately an enemy tank showed up and blew him up. I laughed at him.

Anyways I wouldn't TK someone else for a vehicle, I wouln't want to give him the satisfaction of punishing me.

i reallly hate it too. now i make a point of picking up ANYONE who asks for a ride. if they r 100 feet away and ask, il stop and wait for them. im just so nice like that lol

Ever see me on a server, holler out and I'll be happy to give you a ride.I absolutely believe an !@*& needs tk'd that runs off and strands his team in the middle of bfe.But I just can't bring myself to do it.I get to laugh seconds later when he's blasted into 15sec hades tho,so I figure it's a good trade.

I think some people play with their brains off.
