Can you get the battlerecorder file if there arent enough people to start the round?

Can you also get it in unranked if the rounds starts but doesn't finish?

I need to know because me and my friends are starting our first ever BF 2 movie and as of now, all we have is fraps which records us talking on skype too lol

You can only get Battlerecorder files after a round has ended I believe...

Here is a good method for recording by yourself or on a LAN...
(otherwise you should get a server you can control and take Battlerecorder files from)

Create a Local Server, press ~ to open command window and type...
demo.recorddemo "demo-name-here" (without the " "'s) to start recording...
demo.stopRecording (the R is capitol) to stop recording...

this will save 2 files to .../Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/demos
copy and paste those two files into .../My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles/Default/demos

Then log out of your profile and log back in and go to the Community tab and the Battlerecorder tab will contain your personal demo recordings, so open one, watch it and record with Fraps while you are watching the demo...

With the Battlerecorder you can set the camera speed and angle just right then play and record with Fraps... However you cannot rewind, so get it right the first time and try to keep your demos short would be my advice...

Okay man..thanks for the advice...yet every time we try to film we end up doing something else...like tking eachother so it might be a while

Hmm I wish the server doesn't have to have Battlerecorder enabled.... why can't BF2 be like every other game in which you can record whenever where ever you want....

You dont need to restart the round just to get a Battle Recorder. You can tell the server when to begin recording a BR and when to stop through Rcon. Saves ALOT of time doing it that way.
