I might uninstall bf2 to see if a new install will reduce the "join server CTD" Do i have to do registry cleaning after uninstalling bf2? If so what is the procedure?

just uninstall bf2 and whatever mods/boosters/extra maps you have installed, once their all done delete the Bf2 directory on your harddrive, the reinstall -
