tank's main gun damage on helos

allright, on wake island i was in the PLA tank at the northern tip taking down boats. then the USMC attack helo starts flying towards me.i fire the main gun more as a joke and i hit it, and it DOESNT EVEN START SMOKING, its hovering right in front of me and i think "that gunners tv missiles mustve run out of film or something " i fire the main gun a second time and hit the chopper, it starts smoking but doesnt go down. the pilot is still hovering close to me so i fire the main gun a third time and that FINALLY TAKES it down. 3 tank cannon shells to take down a tiny attack helo, thats BS.

the first hit might not have registered. if you hit it with a tank shell, you can take it down with machine gun fire before you reload. i've flown in chopper many of times and had a tank get some lucky hits on me

Funny, I dont have that problem. I like dropping choppers with the tank. If I hit the side of the chopper it will start smoking and it will blow up on its own pretty quick.

yeah, i'll go with lag / etc on that 1st shot.

1 shot always makes it smoke, and some MG fire on it will usually finish it off. If it has any damage on it the main gun fire = death.

Depends where you shoot, shells can bounce of armour.

Hehe I was flying Wake yesterday and a tank NAILED me right in the face, I didn't loose one bar of health =)

1 tank shell amost desroys an attack heli if it is not buggy. Sometimes I can see that I hit the helicopter and nothing happens WTF. Than when I fly boommmm...

not in BF2...in BF2 shells can lag of armor, or bug of armor

Lol that is BS! u must have not hit right the first time!
I got destroyed by tank when i was in plane just as i was going to drop bombs!
Love to see that happen in real life! :laugh:
