i request that you only show bombing, no dogfighting or missile dodging. let everyone learn themself... unless u want more nubs in the j10's and f18's owning it up.

Oh wait, I forgot, EA/DICE made it next to impossible to shoot them down to unbalance the game in favour of jet pilots. So that may be a hard one to do. LOL. (sorry just couldn't resist).

So just stick with bombing tutorials.
yea yea save that for the "AA IS TOO WEAK" THREADS nub

How about an overview of each plane? Strenghts, weaknesses, abilities, manueverability, etc.? Nothing too detailed.

I haven't seen anybody else post this, but avoiding surface to air missles like Linebackers, Tunguskas, IGLAs, etc. The F35 seems extremely sluggish when avoiding these.

So is a lot of info people are requesting.

Bombing third post... and it's yours... So why not bitch at someone for requesting a bombing tutorial?

and there's this, and stolen from that page, there's this.

I can tell you that right now.

JSF sucks for A2A combat (IE dogfighting, obviously) but if there are no other planes in the air, it can change the whole tide of the game if used right. It's the FASTEST, strongest afterburner, most stable plane in the game, with a 600 round cannon.. which is very strong and underrated. It's also really responsive and has a fast roll rate. One of the best things for the A2S is the center-mounted cannon.

J-10, we all know this plane. Really good for A2A combat. It excels in turning, and "dodging" missles. It has a faster "base" speed than all the other jets (IE when you aren't using the AB), and a longer lasting (but not as powerful) afterburner. The thing that makes it bad for surface attacks is that it isn't very steady, and the cannon comes from the left side of the jet. Also the bombs have a higher spread than any other jet.

F-18 (IMO the best all around jet, but not my favorite). It has it all. It is good in the air, and attacking the surface. Doesn't turn that great, and is slower than other jets, but it's missle "dodging" factor is way higher than any other jet, even the J-10. It is steadier than the J-10, but not as much as the JSF. It also has a center-mounted cannon with 600 rounds just like the JSF, but it has bomb spread similar to the J-10. I don't like the feel of this jet, even though it is technically the best jet in the game.

I don't know enough about the MIG to explain it.

Ah this is one hell of a cool topic.. I just bought my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (Btw. How long did it laster for the ones in this topic that use it? I heard neg. things about the durability..)

I could already bomb etc. but dogfighting is the thing I really suck in.. Well in a F35-B I always fly at 500-600 So J10's aren't a problem..

Yeah theres a glitch where you can fly into the boat part of the carrier to the right hand side corner at full speed and not die.

                          It's pretty crazy.. lol

Youre a dumb ****ing moron if you think I have anything against a full scaled tutorial explaining the capabilities, potential and differences of all aircraft in the game. Then again, you seem like a moron anyway, so I explain why I think its not a good idea to do a tutorial explaining jets differences.

One, were dealing with a LOT of technical data here. Explaining everything for each jet would take a LOT of screentime.

Two, most of that knowledge is "personal". Meaning, people discover most of what concerns their jets, and use it for themselves. Since dogfighting is directly a player vs player situation, every player should discover the technicalities themselves, aswell as the proper use of his/her jets strenghts weaknesses.

Three, what Metallica most probably wants to do is a simple start up tutorial. I imagine it to look like ArmyDrs. Its simple, you get the basics and everything else is up to you.

Finally- what I mean by "that kind of info is available on forums" is- theres a ton of information regarding technical differences between jets. I have personally posted up 3-5 major posts with a lot of numbers describing jets characteristics. Its good if you dig into those numbers and try to understand them and experiment them yourself. Dogfighting is like a swordfight, everyone approaches to the battle with his own philosophy, and using strenghts and weaknesses his own way. I in no way wanted to step on your toe, I just think that this kind of information is better "absorbed" by reading, understanding and using tidbits of it yourself. Because it would just take too much of screentime.

But thats for that nice failed personal attack. Idiot.

Adding on F35B- its turns final stage is where it totally fracks up. Really overshoots. Very hard to stay behind someone when youre close and they start making loops. Best strategy with F35B is to stay far away, and chase using contrails only and rely on missiles. Then theres the surprise attack, well known since day one. Which is approach with the cannon view- but against an experienced pilot you have to stay well above him. I usually track them with the bottom of my screen.

As for MiG- Its basically like the F18, however, as said, F18 holds 3 advantages over the MiG. Faster roll speed, more cannon rounds and higher "missile miss factor".

Basically MiG is slower in rolls, but speed is the same, its turn radius is also the same. But it holds less ammo, yet it has more afterburner time. 15 against F18s 10? If Im not mistaken. Its been a while since I dug in the files or did my tests.

                                EDIT:

Never seize to chuckle when I look at these pictures.
