Well i just got battlefield 2 a couple of days ago and after spending the entire day downloading the huge v 1.3 patch i can finally play. One big thing i was looking forward to is using a mic to talk to other players...but every server i go on (with mic use enabled) has no one talking! I join a squad with lots of people and no one ever talks. I try to say hi but no response...I tested my mic and it works. Also UAV is transmitting..what could be the problem? Does every1 talk in game using other software liek Teamspeak? Or do i have to do something to talk like tune to a specific channel? Or is it just not many people use mics to talk in bf2? ( Yes i do press B when i talk)

A lot of people are using TS and Ventrillo in BF2. Few people use the in game voip, but some do - just got to find them. I run venti, but will always use the squad speak option when I am in a squad to let the other squad mates know I'm spawning on SL and if they need me to come in with a specific kit. Keep trying - you'll find one. -

They are out there, I always look for squads with people talking (about the game) or make a squad and invite other pilots while I fly, usually pilots will chat with other wingmen.
P.S.
I hate hearing kids ramble on about stupid sheot. I kicked a kid from our squad for being a complete retard on VOIP last week.Comment

Many times the server will have thier TS info listed on the load screen. Look at teh box on the bottom left that usually displays the rules/info - good place to start looking, otherwise you can troll forums/websites of various servers (listed in the same space) and find it there - hope this helps.Originally posted by ThebigrussianComment

Dont forget VOIP is PUSH TO TALK. Press and hold B to talk to ur squar or V to talk to cammander or squad leaders if ur commander or squad leaderComment

When you join a game, make a squad called 'VOIPONLY' and kick people out of the squad that don't use it.
Seen it a few times on servers I play on, it isn't unreasonable when you state in the squad name that you want voip users.Comment
