I'm having an issue with my knife badge.

My basic knife badge is all I'm missin besides commander to complete the set.
Any tips or suggestions? I've gotten 6 which was annoying and have done that 4 times I think, Where did you get your knife badges at any level?

Karkand is good for getting it... basically you have to be very sneaky - keep one eye constantly on the minimap so you can see who's facing away from you around a corner and so on.

you dont get kills as commander, the kill field is always blank....

i thought this thread was for giving tips to ppl who want to earn it honestly, without resorting to high-point servers, or knife/pistol servers.....

i have earned my basic, veteran, and expert knife on 24/7 karkand servers.....with about 32-46 players, sized 64 map.....

here are some tips that ive learned on my own on the field:

**join a squad thats always at the front line..........you will die alot, so this will be most helpful...

**be medic......you may also accumulate heal and revive points, as well as giving you ability to self heal....dont throw med packs to yourself, it will blow your cover, just hold the pack out, aalso you will be able to revive your squadleader when necessary.....this class gives you alot of sprint, which is vital

**use everything for cover.....that means bushes, little curb-stones, corners, trees, etc.....this is invaluable, and will keep you alive long enough for your enemy to either get close enough, or turn their backs....

**pay close attention to your sprint meter.....dont sprint unless you are going for a kill, or running for cover

** use evasive maneuvering.......when i go for a kill, and the enemy sees me, i will zig-zag like a mad man, while jumping every few steps....dont jump too much or you will be out of sprint....jump 2-3 times max...making your last jump one to your opponents side, or rear, then go prone and stab....also crouch is about as effective as prone

**bind your knife to an easy to reach key......i did this, now as force of habit, i instantly take out my knife whenever i spawn :laugh: also it would be easier for when using the paddles/medpacks

thas all i can think of off the top of my head.....knifing is something i absolutely love, and have spent a couple of months using it exclusivly (aside from medpacks and shock paddles)....in fact, i have an account used primarily for knifing ( http://bf2s.com/player/67425833/ )

just join a knife and pistol server alphabetize the server names and search for one named knife and pistol server or pistol and knife be a medic though!!

thats if you want the badge handed to you, like noob pvssies do who cant earn it......and you also risk getting your stats reset, as it is considered stats-padding, for obvious reasons.....its in violation of the ROE...

Getting knife badges is now easy since they removed most of the IAR requirements.

I'm glad I got my expert knife before May 24.

Try searching these forums, there is 12 months of advise on how to get it on various maps of various sizes. Or, you can follow Alpha's advice and try that too.

I just think it seems impossible... I have'nt really tried to get it yet but everyone else got it a year ago when this game was new. now people are much more aware of knife killers...

This is how I got my knife badge. My friend and I went online on the same server, a smaller wake island one (40 people), and he was commander. He would spot out all the guys who were camping and sniping or waiting for vehicles. I was spec ops and would just sneak up and knife them, 7 knife kills for basic isn't too bad. Also, play commander hunt and find the other teams commander and keep killing him.

The new expert knife takes no skill. Anyone with enough time can get it.

Spawn camp the archway and hallway across the street from the Hotel on Karkand, as soon as the USMC takes it, stab away. Stay on the street to the West of the hotel, move between the 2 points, should get 7 fairly quick, though cheap, doing that

I got mine on Mashtur.

Play sniper on 64 player Karkand. The mayhem at the hotel is ideal for knife kills. As sniper, the uniforms are very similar and it easy to sneak up and mingle with them.
