    Mods

This may be a really dumb question but, how do I play a mod once I have downloaded it to my desktop? Where do I unzip it to and then where do I find a server to play it at? I am not talking about any mod in particular, just any available on this site.

      Re: Mods

It may depend on whether or not the mod has an executable (exe) file or if it's just a zipped file of the mod info.

All mods go into the "mods" folder under your Battlefield 2 directory.
If it has an exe then it 'should' install itself there, if it's a zipped folder of the mod files then extract it under the 'mods' folder.

I think you would also be better off posting this question in the Forums of the mod you want to install. All mods usually have their own website and forums. They would be able to answer the specifics about their mod.

        Re: Mods

Hey, "owner," some mods come in .zip files. Don't be an asshat.

Buddy, just extract it to Battlefield 2/mods , when you open the game go to community > custom game, select the mod, and hit activate. :)

Yea...way to help the guy out there.
It's obvious he's a little new to it. Give him a little more than that.

              Re: Mods

Logan are you the Logan I know from Gfxhaven.com? I know one well never mind.. Depends on what kind of mod it is like Stuns Mod 1.6 Auto-Installs but other mods that don't auto installs you have to unzip them to Your BF2 Directory (Usually "C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/Mods") So if it doesn't auto-installs or you are told to place it in the mods directory place it there if it auto-installs there is no need for it.
