    Odd dissaperances/ grey spawnpoint-screen

I've fooled around with the editor lately, and managed to make quite a few maps. But now, I've got two diferent problems.

#1: On one of my custom maps, the spawnpoint-selection screen is transparent. And when I say transparent, I mean it's invisible. The only thing that's left is the X in the top right corner and the "Done" button. The HUD map is is transparent too. Any ideas?

#2: I just finshed a cool map, saved it and all. Hoping for a good'ol time, I fired up Bf. But shabang, it hit me in the head. The map was not on the list of map. I checked around and the map was definetly in the correct location.

And yes, I made spawpoints on both maps.

I'm in need of help. The only thing that keeps me in check, is the ability to kill online.

I'm sorry but I'm going to list some things that you might have already done just to make sure that it's not a simple problem.

Make sure it's not your mini map settings. In the main BF2 menu:

Gameoptions > Hud Settings > Transparency > Minimap Slider bar

100% or another high Number will make it look invisible, if it's set to 100% then it's 100% transparent and you wouldn't see it in game. So it's worth a shot to double check that is not part of the problem.

      - Did both of you guys try making a "Control Point" followed by adding a "Spawn point" to that control point. If you did not do both of these the map would load but there would be no "spawn point dots" to click on.

About the map not showing up in the map list. Sometimes they don't show up if they don't have all the nessecary files needed to work. I had this happen once a long time ago when I first started making maps on BF2 and I wasn't exactly sure why. However the fix I came up with which might not be the fastest way is:

-First I backed up my map by temporarily renaming the folder of the map "MyMapName-Backup"
      - Then I started a whole new map that was the exact same size and settings and name as my old map
      - Then in the editor I added all things necessary for the map to load in game.
      - Then I closed the game and Copied the folder of the new map I created as backup "MyMapName-WorkingBackup"

So by now I have 3 folders that have to do with my map
"MyMapName-Backup" - the old map that doesn't show up
"MyMapName-WorkingBackup" - a backup of files of a new map that does work
"MyMapName" - the new map that works but is empty that I will slowly add my old files to.

      - Opened the folders named "MyMapName" and "MyMapName-Backup" in the "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\levels" directory and one by one I copied things over from the "MyMapName-Backup" folder to the "MyMapName" folder.

      Things like:
"Heightmap files", "Colormaps", "Detailmaps", "Staticobjects.con" etc. etc. But I only copied them over 1 by 1 (well actually in small groups but I'm not sure I suggest that for you just in case.) and each time I copied a new file over I tested to see if the map showed up in the MapsList (might be good to make sure it works in game too).

Which is why this is a long process but it's faster then sitting around waiting for help and probably faster then starting over completely. Pay attention to the files you add. If you add one that all the sudden makes the map no show up in the server list, then you know one of those files is what is causing it not to show up. Eventually you should be able to narrow it down to which file is causing you the problems.

I hope this helps if not make sure to try all this out and come back and maybe I or someone else can help you out.

Thanks for the help, really appriciate it. I'll try it out, and if it doesn't work then I'll rip something asunder.

Managed to fix the second problem though. I hadn't changed the mapname in the Info. folder. Ahh stupid me.
