Just got BF2 Del Edition

I just bought BF 2 Deluxe edition when I click join server the game crashes to my desktop. I have reformatted my computer thinking maybe that would fix but nope. All drivers updated. My specs are GeForce 6800, 1 GB Ram, Have current Direct X, CPU Intel 4 3.0 GHZ. I played the demo for like 3 months now and it works fine only problem is with the actual game.

Did you patch to the latest version of the game? Also if you recently formatted, make sure you downloaded your Intel CHIPSET drivers. Most people forget to install those.

It should have the patches with the game since just released June 7, 2006. But I did patch to 1.3 didn't change any thing. Then thought about patching first 1.22 then 1.3 but went ahead and reformatted will try it now and see if it changes anything.

And yes i have the drivers download and updated my graphics driver just in case it was that.

I'm sorry to tell you, but a good portion of the community is experiencing this.
EA/Dice have addressed the problem and are in the process (I hope) of fixing it.

Do you have "Same Mod" selected so that the server list only displays the mods you have?

Can you run Singleplayer?

well it let me in and play but got dced alot sometimes i get kicked sometimes it lets me play. thanks for all the help everyone :)

Yes i can play singleplayer mode

Man i got out to post to forums and now its crashing again this is so wrong lol. They need to fix it

If it makes you feel better man I just baught battlefield 2 deluxe today. I can't join any servers. If i input hte wrong password it will quickly tell me thats wrong if i put in the right one it just sits there for 5+ minutes until i control alt delete.

I've tried the following too

-Clean install
-Upgrade to 1.3 software
-connect direct from cable modem to PC (no hardware firewall)
-disable sygate firewall
-Disable norton and their worm protection. Hell I've disabled all on XP that's related

I think it's a DICE EA problem. What a piece of crap. And the store wont' return my game..
