Can you should me a closeup of your n52? We always wanted to do that, but nobody thought people would like it!

My joystick has a throttle, rudders(3d handle twist), a million buttons, and an 8way hat switch. No keyboard here.

I'm pretty sure we have the same 'stick, the only things I use the keyboard for (which I will be changing) is for VoIP and my map.

I used an old PS2 joystick which isn't the prettiest mod, but it's worked for almost a year with no issues. I've also swapped some of the original buttons around to make them easier to access.

Wow! Like I said, I am impressed. When we originally camaae up with the idea for the n52, a few of us tried to get them to get them to thread the dpad, allowing you to screw in a stick, and at that point, it would be a makeshift stick. It got shot down because it wouldnt be an actual analog stick, since we would be using the 8 pads to emulate the analog.

The mod came out really nice regardless! Probably one of the absolute best I have seen!

I also like the key swap, makes the 11 key much easier to use, just sorta roll your finger back.

It was fairly easy to do. Took a screw, some glue, some ingenuity, and I recall using a dremel.
When I did this mod I made a how to guide with pictures on this very forum. The D pad is almost unusable without this mod imo. It will tear up your thumb in no time tring to jam that stiff thing around. This mod makes usind that pad almost effortless.

I did a 180 with all of the buttons 1-6 to make the top row closer and more easily reached. Like you said it also makes pressing that far away 11 key a little easier. I also took that stiff ass spring out of the big orange button.

i use a Saitek X52, got a set of 5 buttons * trigger at the top, that handles fire, weap switch, chaff, rear view, cockpit view and then there's a 8-way nipple that I use for Map/VoIP/Commander VoIP/Scoreboard/eject

aaaallll joystick, for helo i just use keyboard and the throttle on the joystick to hover

LoL. That is EXACTLY how my setup looks. I too use the N52 between the X52 and the mouse on the right with the keyboard above in front.

I'm not quite understanding what you are saying. Are you saying you designed and made the n52? If thats the case I hate that your analog stick idea got shot down. I probably wouldn't use the D pad without it. Someone really dropped the ball there.

i do use my joystick (Extreme 3D Pro) when im flying but when i comes to attack heli's n' Black Hawks i use the keyboard for some reason i find it alot easier to fly using the keyboard on heli's than using the Stick.
