What Am I Doing Wrong?

I've unlocked a couple of weapons but my guy isn't armed with them during play.:cry:
Is there somewhere that I need to specify their use?

In the kit/spawn selection screen you will see an arrow next to the kit you unlocked. click it.

you need to click on the little arrow next to the default weapon in the weapon menu selection to arm with the new gun.
