long black screen

ok my problem is when i open bf2 the screen goes black for about 1-2minutes before the game actually starts, when before it would come up with the EA games logo right away. so is this from viruses or spyware or what else can it be from?

I had this problem too, it actually went away by its self for me :). One thing u can try is when its on the black screen minimize it (alt+tab) then bring it back up and then it should start.

You could also try disabling the startup movies, it might solve your problem.

Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies and delete or rename dice, ea, intro and legal.

Bah, I have this problem now too I have disabeled the statup movies, but makes no difference.

delete the my documents bf2 folder and reinstall the 1.3 patch and it should work.
