Okay, I've heard this word being used a lot in server names, but what exactly is a high point server? It's listed as a server violation on BFROE, but why does it violate the ROE and what is it?

Re: High Point Server?
I think it's a server with the tickets raised to an illegal amount. ie on a 64 size map, there may be like 400 tickets..
I THINK.. i'm not sure though.
Altough.. I never understood the point of that... because 2 shorter games points would probably add up to the 1 long game points..
I have no idea. -
Re: High Point Server?
high points means usualy large map large ticket ratio and a small amount of people map lasts for long time and the scores will be higher
how can it be a violation ????? so if i enter a 64 player swerver and there
only say 12 people in ther and i get a really high score becasue it lasts so long does that mean im padding cmon people gimme a break
the admin sets the tickets picks the size of the map and amount of people all within the controls and rules of the server
what about servers saying no raping or camping this is just stooopid are those roe violations ?????? so they all should be banned
christ why not just take away weapons and we can all hand out flowers to each other and sing songs about love and peace
this is a game about fighitn as a team to make the other team lose as long as both sides agree on rules of combat then who friggin cares how they fight or how long
i am not the collective conscience of the cheaters out there they know who they are and how they got their points i know how i got my points and thats what counts
my solution .....feel pitty for cheaters cause they suck and for some reason its really important to have big stats in this game and kick their arses when it comes to in game fightingComment

Yes.Originally posted by TomSo is that actually against ROE
What makes me laugh is these servers have to put in a knife + pistols only rule in (which is also against the ROE), otherwise the rate at which they accumulate points will be minimal and the benefit of these "high points" servers is next to zero.
What makes me laugh even more is that EA can't just use the server browser to find offending servers and close them down. They rely on people to post screenshots of the server browser with the server selected/the loading screen/ingame footage which you must send through BFROE.com if you want at least half a chance of something being done. Even if you do all that, it's rare for any action on EAs part to happen. It's hardly the most authoritative way of catching these 'criminals' is it?Comment

Re: High Point Server?
Well, the other way would require more work (for them), which is why they'd never do it. Just like testing their patches, actually going out and finding illegal servers is taking too many people away from working on 2142.Originally posted by DuffManYes.

Re: High Point Server?
high point servers are servers with low player count as the max, on large sized maps ie. 24 players max, 64 sized map...
its a violation of the ROE, i dont get why, but it is.....those are the rules we have to live with (for ranked servers) if you dont like it, find an unranked server, find another game, deal with it, or go through the appropriate channels to propose a change (yeah right)...
i personally would think that long, nearly endless rounds would be a good thing.....who wants to stop playing, then start again.....the only reason i can come up with is the IAR (in a round) requirements for awards...and to switch maps...
i dont think EA has shut these down because they are collecting PID's of ppl usiing these servers, so they can reset them........think of it as a roach motel....its basically bait for what the ROE considers stat paddersComment
