Problems Opening BF2

I click on bf2, the loading screen comes up, then it goes away again. Then nothing happens.
I do have the latest driver.

Any1 know how 2 fix this?
I have played the game before. But i just installed the newest patch and it doesnt work.

I click on the bf2 icon. A bf2 logo comes up then it goes away then nothing happens.


Before this problem happened:
I installed the new patch and it came up with and error when i join a server saying cdkey invalled. Note: this is a legit version of bf2. I went to a thread on this site that showed you how to fix it. I changed a thing in the registory for bf2 like it said then i tried to run bf2 and this problem occured.
I uninstalled bf2 and reinstalled everything and the problem is still here.

i feel like i had this problem b4 but i cant seem to remember how i fixed it

try rebooting and leaving the disk out of ur drive and then inserting the disk later

I have the exact same problem. I ahven't played in several months. when I tried to start up....the logo then nothing. installed all the patches...nothing. uninstalled everything then updated with the patches..nothing...

had bf2 for a while and recently installed 1.3, had the previose 1.22 patch installed

it goes to the splash screen, adjusts the resolution then goes back to desktop...should i reinstall or is there a way to fix this?

hey try this, I haven't yet but it may be the problem. It could be a problem with the resolution of your desktop not jiving with bf2. try going to default res of bf2 for your desktop......not sure what that is but maybe standard lcd one. after you get in and change your res settings I think you should be able to go back to your normal desktop.

I just uninstalled bf2 and reinstalled bf2 but no patches. And it works.
I think theres a problem with the patches.

That may be. but I have unistalled and reinstalled several times now and the plan old bf2 won't load up....

hmm i guess this is simmilar to my problem but my screen goes black for about 2 minutes than it finally opens.
also what drivers and video card do you have because i used to have a radeon x300SE and the cat drivers 6.5 didnt work it would just freeze so maybe its the drivers try out omega maybe

After try the normal editing of text files, updating off all drivers, etc, try grabbing the no cd patch specific to the patch you have installed from gamecopyworld.com.

This is what ended up resolving my long running issue.

I've had this happen to me in the past and it's happening again hence why I'm writing here now.

I did everything, it simply went away after a matter of days, its not our fault, I don't think I need to say who's it is....

im having the same problem.... everytime i start it the splash screen shows up then the screen goes black and tries to adjust the res and then just goes back to desktop.

im not sure wat caused it becuz i played about 2 days after the 1.3 patch came out... i havnt played since then and between that time i installed AF so that might be the cause.
