Cannot go up ranks. Why!?

I have been at the same rank since Spec Forces came out.
During this time, my progress bar has been maxed.
I am not missing any prerequisites as per Bf2s.com
No matter how many points I get in a single round, I can't seem to go up a rank.

What do I have to do to push myself over the line and go up a rank. I have been hovering at Master Sargeant for about 7 months or so with no sign of going up a rank.

I have the newest patch, and have been updating them within a day or two of being released.
Of course, EA does not know what the problem is, and their advice is to "Keep fighting." Brilliant.

Anyone have any ideas?
Without new weapons to unlock, and therefore slightly different strategies to enact upon, this game is becoming very boring.

So you've tried contacting EA and explaining the situation in grueling detail? If so then all I can suggest is "Keep fighting." Sorry I can't be of more help, programing and that kind of stuff isn't really my forte...

dont worry if u play on one server a lot it takes a while,i remeber my bfhq said i was only halfway to gunny seargent and i play on a diffeent server and 5 kills later im a gunny seargent!

Well, that is my ID, but if I'm so very far away from going up a rank, why is my point gauge full?

I hate that in order to get a fair amount of unlocks, you have to play this game like a junkie. I am lucky to get in 5 hours a week, but I am a solid player:
I NEVER intentionally TK (unless some one else is going on a TK rampage), I let people waiting have vehicles, I am all about squad tactics and strategic chatter, and I don't b!tch when I get stuck on the losing team.
I think EA should find a way to cater at elast a little bit more to semi-casual players.

I think they should give people an unlock or two when they buy expansions.
But hey, that's just my frustration because I don't have a lot of time to play. :hmm:

You can NEVER get 1st sargent..N-E-V-E-R. You were missing prereq. when you went up in rank.

There are certain badges you need for certain ranks. ie. for first sergeant you need Basic Knife Combat Badge, Basic Pistol Combat Badge, Basic Assault Combat Badge, Basic Anti-tank Combat Badge, Basic Sniper Combat Badge, Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, and Basic Medic Combat Badge. Once you get all those, you'll go up in rank.

No he won't...He'll never get First Sergeant now because he needed to have them before his promotion to Master Sergeant. The next promotion you can get it at 50,000 points...

They fixed it though, didn't they? Didn't EA make it so you can get the promotion once you get the badges?

It does not appear to have been corrected, as I earned my Basic Knife and Pistol badge last night, as well as my Veteran Knife and Pistol badge last night.
I'm still at the same freaking rank.

So if this alleged glitch is true, what, if anything, can I do about it?
