No, you can remove vehicles and artillery etc by editing things server side. But don't do it on a ranked server or the BFROE police will wave their finger at you.
There's also an infantry only mod out there called BF2Max I believe. It was developed by one of the top Euro clans, Code7 I think, and has all vehicles and commander assets removed as well as editing some of the existing 16player maps. The Team Warfare League also has an infantry map packed developed for the 5v5 infantry only leagues which consist of the vanilla BF2 maps with the vehicles and Arty removed as well as a new map called East Side which uses the east side of Karkand 64 as a 4 flag infantry map. It looks similar to Mashtuur the way it is layed out.Comment
