dual 7900's flicker

wow, one performs better than 2. i tried using antialiasing and vsync to fix the problem but it just flickers. i expected a performance increase with 2, wtf . any ideas?

Is this only in BF2 or in other games as well, what are your other system specs and what drivers are you using?

x2 4400, 2 gig's of ram, an8 32x x16 motherboard or some **** and im using forceware 84.21 which runs like a charm with one 7900. but when i run two, it takes a **** on me. ive only tried bf2, only pc game i play.

Can you be more specific here? Do you mean the pc locks up? If so it might be insufficient PSU power.

I had a 500W psu, ran one 7800 GTX fine, ran one 7800 GTX 512MB (higher power req) fine, but couldnt cope with 2 GTX 512s. The pc would lock up on almost any game. Replaced it with a Seasonic S12 600W, problem gone.

your PSU may be 600w but one of your 12v rails must support imo 22-24 amps...especially with 2 7900's. If your 12v rails support only up to 18 amps you know what your problem is. (to all) If you have SLI motherboards please take a look at the amperage ratings on your power supply. Don't buy based on wattage rating alone. As most companies are getting away with using 12 gauge wire which is 20 amp rated but will only deliver an 18 amp load. Look up the specs of your PSU if your at 18amps you will have to take one out to make it run smooth.

offhand I know that just one Geforce 7600 gt requires at least a 350 watt psu and an 18 amp 12v rail. two of those I think would be at least 22amps on a 12v rail.

edit. If you don't want to replace your psu I would suggest unplugging what you don't use. Floppy drive, extra cd/dvd drive,trying to limit what you use in USB ports and then ultimately underclocking.

I retract my statements about SLI cards needing at least 22a rails sorry that was spurting off my mouth going off of memory of close to 3 years...After doing some research and reading it seems the bare minimum should be 30amps for an SLI build. This PSU you linked me is also not Nvidia SLI Certified. visit the extremeoverclocking link he points one to the correct psu for their build.

actually i looked into it, it had nothing to do with my power supply. it was because my cards had different vid. bios versions. thanks for trying to help though.
