Of course.

how do you use them

You have to download them first. Then you see the icons on your desktop? Right click>Properties>Shortcut>Change Icon (Then go find the place you saved it to and just open it and click apply.

I have made custom icons in different colors as well as one for BF2CC. I have also done custom backgrounds for the menu and log in screens with my clans tag in the window over the big red 2.

I had thought about doing them custom for peeps. Maybe the background one with a custom clan tag for inside the game like I have?
