Deleting Bf2 Movies.

I had deleted the opening movies out of the game's directory so that the game would start more quickly. It went right to the logon screen, and skipped all that other junk.
Then I had to reformat my computer. Then I installed patch 1.3

Ever since I installed patch 1.3, I can't even find the directory with the opening movies. Are they further embedded in the program, or am I just completely overlooking them?
Anyone know?

Thank you. I just completely overlooked them. Maybe I just didn't recognize them because of the unusual Icon Package I have installed.
Yeah. That must be it. That sounds like a better excuse than just being BLIND!

I wouldn't delete them. Just change your shortcut target line to:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2" +restart 1

No more intro movies. There are other commands you can do from here as well if you are not familiar with it. Go full screen, set res, auto-login, etc.

I suggest you just make another folder inside the movie folder and move them in there. You can also add a different intro movie if you like. Here is a guide I wrote up for our guys and gals on how to do it.

Battlefield 2 cleaner can also take care of the movies for you if you are feeling lazy.

Just press "Esc" to go through the movie. It is that simple. If you wish you can delete them.

I just hit "Esc" too and skip it; I'm not sure removing the movies completely is actually any faster.

There are some movies that you cannot skip with Esc.

I renamed them to Movie.bak so I have the files if I need them some day.

I kept the movies but put them in a different file on my secondary "Archive" hard drive.

I may try Bf2 Cleaner. Sounds interesting.

I could "Esc" out of the movies, but it's still much faster not having to wait for the EA Games screen, and the Dice load Screen.

Also by not loading the movies you save over 150meg of RAM that would otherwise be loaded into memory when you still have the movies. As I said I just made another folder in the movies folder and transferred "all" of them in there not just the DICE.bik EA.bik and Intro.bik that most do.
