Helo I have a question , to help my dear friend..

He always had problems trying and trying and reinstalling bf2, the first of the problems was the patching process "patch failed" soo then he did registry and got successfull and it let him fully patch, then the goes into bf2 on the desktop and it says somthing about unmodified and some weird writing, after he figured out that he could only get into bf2 through xfire, later he goes into a game and it says unmodifed content (every gets it). Then he restarted his pc and went back into bf2 though the shorcut (weird). He goes to join my room and ends up being in there for 5 seconds, he get kick from Punkbuster, it says Global Guid Ban and he wasent involved in any cheating.... hes too much of a noob to do that ... can somebody help him please.. he and i would really apperciate it

...yeah do what I do:

"..\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Make sure you set your video.con file to 800x600 or set the res to 800x600 once and quit before loading with the above command line options.

it can handle it my friend..i got x800xl too and using 20.1 inch viewsonic.

thanks for that info, but now im continplating whether or not to get a non wide lcd for like 100$ cheaper or go wide.

Don't forget "+widescreen 1" stretches the gun animation so it appears normal on a widescreen monitor.

...I have been reading a lot of posts suggesting that +widescreen 1 does nothing.

Could you post screenshots showing what you mean?

I took some screen shots, without "+widescreen 1" the gun is streched.

notice on the non how the gun is cut off, with "+widescreen 1" there is more to the gun that couldn't be seen before.

Okay I also see that when you override into widescreen you can't look behind or outside at least with my monitor and drivers. +widescreen 1 always looks the exact same for me with or without it however feel free to try it.

Ok, do the following:

• run BF2 using "..\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
• take a screenshot

• run BF2 using "..\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
• take a screenshot in the exact same location

• post the screens here

OK tried it, your right, "+widescreen 1" does jack! :-(
