I see where you can dim the icons on the map but can you dim the ones on the screen. Sometimes the map symbol gets in the way along with peoples names and ranks. I would like to tone it down a little.

Go to Options and it's on the right side bottom, you can dim the mini map... make it transparent...
Tip for jets: REALLY good to dim the map totally and then have a map ON screen all the time. So when someone (hopefully! they need to do a lot of it!) spots a jet you have a clear view and can see where the jet is and go after it.
I play like that, make the map 95/99% transparant and then open the map to full. -
