missiles still lock on to friendly targets [video clip]

    From the bf2 1.3 changelog....
Friendly Vehicle lock: Lock-on weapons do not lock on to friendly vehicles. The box with an X through it will still appear, but a lock tone will not sound and then if fired, the missile will not track the friendly target.

I thought the above covered the annoying bug when missiles that you fire at the enemy then decide to lock onto a friendly instead.

You cannot lock onto a friendly target for the initial launch. If the initial launch then misses the target the missile's seeker will find the next nearest visible heat source and home on it.

Lol I though I killed a faker or something.
because I couldn't image if Dice really would play on servers who are unstable  (sarcastic mod)

            Hehe.
This is the one case of "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" that is actually legit!

It makes sense and is a mechanic I certainly can live with. Considering the relationship that missile tracking seems to have with machine resources, I don't think it's something that needs to be addressed.

so its intended then? also notice that when it does miss the target it homes onto the next target with ultimate accuracy...sometimes doing near u-turns to kill the next target (which is usally a full blackhawk with teammates in...which gets you kicked from the server)....that was 1.22 though..not fired enough missiles in 1.3 to see if its still the same.

if you realy are from dice.

make those AA missles vs heli's

I just go straight to them and shoot 3 or all of them and they al bend of or go througthe heli. and sometimes by the j10 to.
but they will work if you shoot them from close by.

but it's not realy problem because Bh and the attack heli's are thin cans because you can destroy them in 2,5 seconds with your plane gun)

                  Another half-arsed "fix".

****es me off when I'm chasing a J-10 that is chasing my other friendly jet, and release some missiles, they miss the J-10 completely then kill my team mate. GG DICE.

The only thing I can think of is why it leaves the target in the first place, seen sometimes that it just drop the current lock and go after a new target without any flares or any odd manuvers. Maybe something the patch team could have a look at?

Also Demize: Do you play on any swedish servers? Only played against/with 1 DICE-guy before, but it was several weeks before the 1.2 patch. Would be cool to play with someone else who works for DICE.
