1.30: Able to command without ever spawning

Apparently I just experienced a glitch that allowed me to command without having to ever spawn.

This might be related to how people are able to be commander without actually being commander.

It occured during the acceptance period while being commander before the round started.

At the beginning of rounds I always quickly goto commander view to put the UAV up, well I noticed that I placed the UAV up but was still dead!!! WTF...

And I was still able to goto the commander screen and command too. The screenshots I took can't show you what happened, because you'll just see the normal screens.

Anyone else experice this glitch?

Never, but I wonder if you'd get kicked for idle?

I didn't stay in this 'mode'. I should had fraps it...damit...

i got this bug before. in fact i managed to repeat it all the time n i rate this glitch as easy to make. i happens after u die n u have not spawn yet. i reported it before, quite a long time ago. no fix yet...

Its not the double right click bug that allows you to stay in commander view, its BEFORE you ever die!!!

I'll see if I can replicate it today sometime before a round.

Next time it happens I'll Fraps it...I usually don't put fraps on unless I can reproduce something.

So far I haven't been able to repeat the glitch.

You sure it wasn't the double right-click thing? Cause that works before you die too. And in the very beginning of the round.

I was very sure, because I placed the UAV and then got out of commander view only to notice I hadn't spawned AND was still seeing the intro screen you see during the countdown.

Like I said, I wish I had fraps going. I haven't been able to repeat it.
