Ok...dumb question about parachuting

Is it me or....do you have to press the parachute button like 10 times just to use it? Or is there some kind of trick I am missing?

I find when I want to parachute down small distances (but big enough that I would die if I didnt use it) that sometimes it wont even launch. Any tips?

theres a certain distance you have to fall before the parachute will open. if the fall is too small, you will go splat.

I recon its to do with your proximity from walls and objects. If you are too close to something as you are falling and trying to deploy your chute (side of building or wall etc), it wont have room to unfold and you go splat.

You have to repeatedly tap the parachute key, be away from nearby walls and objects (such as alleys), and be at a certain hieght.

I never had any problems with this. I press my parachute key as soon as my inventory goes away . So like you're jumping, and suddenly your weapons or whatever you're holding disappears, that's when you activate it.

If you press parachute to soon after starting to fall it wont do anything, not even wait till u can.
So ya spam that 9 buttin

Remap it to Backspace. Makes it SO much easier.

I remapped it to spacebar and I always deploy the chute at the last possible moment.

that would explain why i ALWAYS die when i jump from that roof between square, and hotel on karkand.....i mash that '9' key about a kabillyun times and i always die!!

infact i was going to use this thread as an opportunity to address this one particular roof......but i see there is no need now, thanks

I remapped it to my "e" with my enter/exit vehicle button. So whenever I jump outta a plane or something my chute button is right by
