Crappy EA Downloader

I continue to get MD5 Errors. What happend was I got AF and went to install it, it gave me an error and asked me to re-try. I tried it again same error so I clicked no IT WENT ON INSTALLING. Since EA didn't bother to make an add and remove programs entry for EF or AF I had no way of uninstalling it completely because I didn't know what files it added and where it put them. So I had to uninstall bf2 and reinstall it. I got AF and EF to work fine now. I just downloaded special forces TWICE, the first time I downloaded it, it was the client.zip at the beginning that was corrupt, and gave me the MD5 error. Now its the two maps Ghost Town and Surge client.zip. Both are corrupt and of course they aren't small files so a friend can just send me them, they are huge 30-45 meg files. Its complete bs. To top that off once I do get it installed I've got to re-patch to 1.3 again, because SF still requires it to be patched to 1.1 so any patching I done has to be re-done in order for SF to work, the two booster packs need to have 1.22 or high to even install.

Anyone else have this kind of bs??

I would just try to repatch with the full 1.3 patch. The maps that you are talking about are changed with the patch so they should be updated when you repatch.

You should be able to install SF onto a 1.3 patched game with no problems. You just have to reinstall the 1.3 patch afterwards. Same with the boosters.

If you continue to get md5 errors, then something else is causing this to happen so often. Maybe you have active scanning with antivirus running? If you do not have antivirus on your system (or an outdated antivirus) you should install one and check for viruses.

Nope all off. Its related to EA downloader. My connection is fine, my harddrive is fine. I even replaced my RAM with Corsair, (I had OCZ before), and reinstalled bf2 on my secondary harddrive. Same errors from the EA Downloader. Each time at a different spot. I got the files from a friend. I just think EA should do something about it. The 1.1 patch is lame, and it should make you have to repatch. They should release an updated SF for EA downloader instead of the old one that makes you have to repatch same with Euro Forces. I had to patch a total of 2 times. Once with EF, and once with SF. Its really really annoying.

Have you tried uninstalling EA Downloader, and installing it fresh? But for what it's worth, my ead has worked fine. I'm pretty sure I've uninstalled it once. If it isn't in Add/Remove there might be directions on one of the forums.

That is why I suggested something else causing the errors. EAD has worked perfect for me. Besides that, about 12 other players that I am online with all have had no problems with the EAD.

I have bought special forces and downloaded it through the EA downloader also, and it wont work at all? I get this following error after starting special forces, before the EA splash screen even loads.
The error says EXACTLY this:

"mods/bf2/shaders/lightning.fx not found!!! _DO_check your working directory , _AND_sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)"

Then my options are "retry", and "cancel"
I've removed and reinstalled both BF2 (whichs works fine by itself), and special forces. I've even tried another video card with the same problems.
BF2, european forces, and armored fury all work okay, and boostered were abviously bought and downloaded through EA downloader.
Any ideas? i've about given up, so anything will help at this point.

Have you Overclocked your CPU. I downloaded a large zip file 6 times from 6 different sites once coz it wouldn't unzip coz it said it was corrupt. Soon as
I put my CPU back to default all 6 unzipped fine.
