expert" Pilots who use the X-52 saitek, plz read

im curious to see how do you guys have your X-52 configured, please post some screens of the controls or the controls.com, i would really love to be a good pilot. especially using the guns on the plane, i dont know how do you guys keep it perfectly steady when destrying AA sites, maybe the deadzone in the X-52 aint that great.

    thanks

I got a X-52 about 4 days ago as well, having trouble adjusting (never used a joystick before). I just start up a custom game and just prac, I have really improved in 3 days.

They have a downloadable profile that you can use for BF2 in that thread. I had the X52 for about a week and took it back because it was such a bear to config. Even with this profile, it was still a pain to try to get everything working just the way I wanted it in BF2. The stick was also unreasonbly "loose" in my opinion. I much prefer the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

I just bought the LE 3D Pro. I tried using the twist function for my yaw control but that just feels strange to me. I noticed the weight of my massive hand (haha) was enough to make me yaw left, it was really apparent on take off rolls where immediately I was turning left. I was constantly compensating for that which resulted in my not flying as smoothly so I switched back to 9 and 10 buttons.

Overall it's a nice joystick for the money. I hope it helps me get better, but I doubt it.

If you fly into a tree I think the message displayed should read: tree kills "you" :)

I love on Oman how they put the mec AA in front of a heat source and next to a building. Genius thinking. If they actually worked it might not be so bad but since it's fairly hit or miss when shooting at near mach speed jets adding those extra hinderances makes it even worse.

This thread has officially gone off course. Sorry.

I don't know how people fly with a keyboard, as they joystick is just so much easyer.

I have the X-45, which IMHO is better, because I don't like the yaw as a twist on the joystick. I just wish the throttle was a bit more responsive on the jets, for helos it's fine.

I'll send you some of my control file entries when I get home...unfortunately that's going to be much, much later

Translation: I would have purchased the Saitek x52 if I had the money and was a professional aviator. However, I am neither. I just like good old first-person shooters. I love my keyboard and mouse.
