Okay, I know this doesnt have to do with BF2 so much, but it does have to do with the community.
Im sick and tired of people whining about their post number in the forums. An admin or mod deletes some of their posts and they start crying about how their post number has gone down.
They keep on insisting that the off-topic forum posts count to your account, and even when the administration has clearly explained that they're not going to change the system, and even explain why they would like to keep it how it is, people still whine. Like DP said in another thread, post counts are the number of times you have contributed to the forum.
A rude reply like "stfu" or "wtf
" is NOT contributing anything to the forum. So dont be proud of your 1,000 posts when half of them are acronyms that show your immaturity. Post count should be a self-satisfaction if all of youre posts were helpful and polite, and that is quite impossible with most people in forums.
Now, to BF2 stats. What is it about having a higher rank and more played hours? Of course, they show your dedication to the game, but that doesnt necessarily translate into being the greatest player. Some people are far better with 15,000 points than someone with 100,000 points. Now, people with high ranks, dont take this personally im just talking about SOME players with scores like that, not ALL of them.
I believe medals, badges, and ribbons are things you should be proud of getting, but there is nothing I hate more than when some kind of bitch with a higher rank than me says "I pwn you cause i have more hours than you n00b".
Why is it that your post number matters so much? Why do having more hours spent in a video game make you a better PERSON (not saying player) than somebody else?
Oh and please, whiners concerning posts amount, etc. PLEASE STOP!
